What I am loving most about these first two episodes is watching Shen Xihe and Xiao Huayong’s calculating moves and how they’re decisions continue to align them together. She navigates the court, moving her pieces with a mix of grace, intellect, and sheer ruthlessness that makes you want to cheer her on.

But just two episodes in, if you pay close attention to her micro-expressions, you can already catch those little “cracks” in her armor. She isn’t 100% as cold and unfeeling as she tries to project to the world, and that subtle emotional friction makes her power moves hit so much harder.
